Sarah Johnson's marriage to Robert Bartow was announced in the "Argus" newspaper. At the time of their marriage in 1863 they were both living in Upper Mt. Bethel.
In 1870 Sarah (Johnson) Bartow, age 55, was living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with her husband, Robert Bartow, age 57, who was retired. They owned real estate valued at $2200 and personal property of $400. Also living in their household was George Bartow, aged 11, possibly a son of Robert by a prior marriage. In 1880 Sarah (Johnson) Bartow, age 65, was still living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. with her husband, Robert R. Bartow, age 67 a laborer. There were no other individuals listed in their household. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1163, Page 385A)
