  In 1870 Jacob Johnson, age 47, was a farmer in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with real estate valued at $11,000 and personal property of $600. He was living with his wife, Julia A. Johnson age 45, and his widowed mother, Elizabeth (Morey) Johnson age 75. There were no children listed in his household. (1870 census, microfilm roll 1383, Northampton Co., PA., Upper Mount Bethel Twp., pg. 444, house #614)
  In 1880 Jacob Johnson, age 57 a farmer, and his wife, Juliann Johnson age 55, were still living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. Jacob's mother, Elizabeth Johnson age 87, was still living with them. Also listed in their household was John Williams, age 14, a servant boy. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1163, Page 389A, house #1)
  On 15 November 1881, Jacob wrote his will. He directed that all of his property was to be sold and that one half was to be given to his wife, Julia Ann. He also bequeathed $1000 to his nephew John Williams and $1000 to to the Reformed Church at Centreville. No children were mentioned in his will. He appointed
 Jesse Pearson the executor. His will was proved 30 November 1881. (Estate file #10426, will book 10, pg. 12, Northampton County Government Center, Easton, PA)
  According to the tombstone listing of the Reformed Cemetery, the date of birth on Jacob's tombstone is 6 August 1820. However, the church record of his baptism shows he was born 3 October 1820.
