a. Note:   The sponsors at Daniel Morey's baptism were his parents. Daniel Morey and Mary Butz were married by Rev. Harpel. Their marriage appeared in the Wednesday 4 September 1849 issue of the "Whig and Journal" newspaper. At the time of their marriage in 1849, they were both living in Upper Mt. Bethel.
  In 1850 Daniel Morey, age 28 a carpenter, was living in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Mary Mory age 24, and one daughter, Ellen Morey age 1. (1850 census, microfilm roll #803, Northampton Co., PA, Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., pg. 465, house #160)
  In 1870 Daniel Morey, age 49 a farmer, was living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. with real estate valued at $4,800 and personal property of $800. He was living with his wife, Mary Morey age 45, and six Morey children; Susan age 19, Asher age 16, Emma A. age 13, John age 11, Jenismia (Jemima) age 8, Rosa age 5, and Mary age 2. Also listed in their household was Susan Butz, age 67, who was probably Mary's widowed mother. (1870 census, microfilm roll 1383, Northampton Co., PA., Upper Mount Bethel Twp., pg. 431, house #392)
  In 1880 Daniel Morey, age 58 a farmer, and his wife, Mary A. Morey age 51, were living in Johnsonville in Upper Mount Bethel Twp. Four of their children were living at home; son John Morey age 21, who was working on his father's farm, daughter Rosa Morey age 15, Mary Morey age 12, and Naomi Morey age 5.   In 1890 Daniel Morey was still living in Upper Mt. Bethel at Johnsonville with his wife, Mary Morey, and single daughter, Naomi Morey. (1890 Census Directory of Northampton Co., Upper Mt. Bethel)
  Daniel wrote a will on 16 November 1891 directing that all real estate and personal property be sold at public auction and that the proceeds, after debts were paid, be deposited with interest paid to his wife, Mary. After her death, the remaining estate was to be given to his children (not named in will). He appointed his friend, John H. Oyer, the executor. His will was probated 18 December 1891.
