Oct 1846, age 53, a farmer, was living in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Sarah A. Morey, b. Aug 1853, age 46, and three daughters; - Elsie M. Morey, b. May 1884, age 16, at school - Tillie M. Morey, b. Mar 1887, age 13, at school - Leila Morey, b. Jan 1892, age 8, at school William and Sarah had been married for 22 years. Sarah was the mother of four children, of whom three were still living in 1900. A servant, Walter Hoffman, aged 17, a farm laborer, was also listed in the household. Morey, age 56, and two daughters: - Tillie M. Ettinger, age 23, married - Lela A. Morey, age 18 William and Sarah had been married for 34 years. Sarah was the mother of 4 children, of whom 3 were living in 1910. Also listed in their household was Sarah's mother, Matilda Oyer, age 77, a widow. (1910 census, microfilm roll T624_1382, Page 4A, house #85, family #85) WILLIAM MOREY William Morey, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of Upper Mt. Bethel township, died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jacob H. Hess, near Portland. Death was due to complications developing from old age. He was 80 years of age. Deceased was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, of Stone Church, and Lodge No. 114, Red Men, Mt. Bethel. Besides Mrs. Hess, two other daughters, Mrs. John A. Ebinger and Miss Lela Morey, both of Pen Argyl, survive. The funeral will be held from the Hess home near Portland Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in the family plot in Stone Church cemetery. (Obituary dated 16 September 1926 from clipping collection at Moravian Historical Society, Nazareth, PA. Name of newspaper unknown.) William died intestate owning two tracts of land in Upper Mt. Bethel in Middle Village. His heirs were his daughters but they were not named in his estate documents.
