In 1880 John Morey, age 54 born in PA, was living in Cottage Grove, Washington Co., Minnesota, with his wife, Elizabeth Morey age 49 born in PA, and five of their children; daughter Margaret Morey age 26 born in PA, son Irving Morey age 19 born in MN, son Holland Morey age 15 born in MN, daughter Emma Morey age 13 born in MN, and daughter Myrta Morey age 8 born in MN. Also listed in their household were Peter Sygerfues age 22 born in PA a farm laborer, and Eveline Fitts age 65 a widow, born in OH. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-0636, Page 174D)
