Nov 1846, age 53, a farmer, was living in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Frances A. Nelson, b. Oct 1850, age 49. Peter and Frances had been married for 30 years. Frances was the mother of 2 children, who were both living in 1900. Both were born in PA. They were listed in the same house as their son, Henry Nelson, and his wife and family. (Note: As shown above, Peter H. Nelson's death certificate shows that his parents were Peter H. Nelson and Judith Morey. However, they may not have been his biological parents. Peter (born 1846) may have been adopted. In the 1850 census Peter (who would have been 4 years old) was not listed in the household of Peter and Judith (Morey) Hanson. In the 1860 census, Peter (age 13) was listed in the household of Peter and Judith but he was listed last in the household, after two other people. Children were ususally listed just after their parents. In the 1870 census, Peter (now age 33), was listed in the household of Judith (Morey) Nelson as Judith's "Grand nephew", not her son.)
