a. Note:   The sponsor at George's baptism was Joh. George Metzger. George was reared on his father's farm in Upper Mt. Bethel Township. After becoming of age, he moved to Lower Mt. Bethel Township where he purchased a farm of 85 acres where he continued to live for about 25 years. He then moved back to Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. and purchased his father's old homestead farm of
 150 acres where he lived up to the time of his death. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was, at various times, a deacon, elder and president.
  His obituary, which appeared in the 11 December 1889 issue of the "Easton Express" newspaper, said he left a widow and two sons, Hiram and Joseph.
