  In 1860 William Wind (listed as Windt), age 50, a farmer, was living in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Sarah Wind. age 50, and four children:

  In 1880 William Wind, age 70, a retired farmer, was still living in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Listed in his household were his wife, Sarah Wind, age 70, and their unmarried daughter, Amanda Wind age 25. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1148, Page 672C)
  William was an active member of Christ Church at Shoenersville and helped to build the local school house in 1850, supplying three horses. He had a large family of 12 children. However, only four children survived into adulthood.
  William Wind died intestate in Hanover Twp. The administrators of his estate were his son, James P. Wint, and daughter, Mrs. Savilla S. Fatzinger. (Estate file #7966, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
