Note: The sponsors at Reuben Wind's baptism were Jacob Vogel and his wife, Magdalena. In 1838, when his father, John Wind, died, Reuben was a minor of only 10 years of age. His brother, William Wint, was assigned as his guardian.

Reuben Wind and Elizabeth Walker were married by Rev. William Rath. At the time of their marriage in 1853, they were both living in Upper Nazareth.
In 1860 Reuben Wind, age 30, a farmer, was living in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Elizabeth Wind, age 26, and one child:

In 1870 Reuben Wind (listed as "Windt"), age 40, a farmer, was living in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Elizabeth Wind, age 33, and three children;
- Samuel Wind, age 14 - John Wind, age 9 - Hannah Wind, age 1. They owned real estate valued at $11,700 and personal property of $1,000. Also listed in their household were: Cecelia Shaw, age 17, a servant; and Subilla (Sybilla) Wint, aged 88 (Reuben's unmarried aunt). In 1880 Reuben Wind (listed in the census as "Windt"), age 49, a farmer, was still living in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Elizabeth Wind, and three of their children;
- son Samuel Wind, age 24, a farm laborer - daughter Hannah Wind, age 10 - son William Wind, age 7 Samuel's wife, Minerva, was counted in that year's census at her parent's house in Upper Nazareth Twp. In 1900 Reuben Wind (listed as Windt), b. Oct 1829, age 70, was still living in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Elizabeth M. Wind, b. Jan 1832, age 68, and one son:
- William Wind, b. Oct 1871, age 28, a hostler (livery) Reuben and Elizabeth had been married for 48 years. Elizabeth was the mother of 5 children, of whom 3 were living in 1900. Reuben's obituary appeared in the 7 August 1900 edition of the "Easton Daily Free Press". He left a widow and three children: Samuel, William, and Mrs. E. Bartholomew.
In 1910 Reuben's former wife, Elizabeth M. Wind, age 78, a widow, was living at 35 Green St. in Bath, Northampton Co., PA. Elizabeth was the mother of 5 children, of whom 2 were living in 1910. She was listed in the household of their married daughter, Hannah (Wind) Bartholomew, age 40, and her husband, Clinton Bartholomew, age 40, and two of their children:
- son Samuel F Bartholomew, age 10 - daughter Irene L. Bartholomew, age 5 Hannah and Clinton had been married for 10 years. Hannah was the mother of 3 children, who were all living in 1910. Also listed in their household was Nellie E. Steckel, age 16, listed as Clinton's step daughter. Everyone in the household was born in PA.
