Notes
a. Note:   y in the will of his uncle, John Henry Kleppinger, who died in 1796. At the time this will was written, George Kleppinger may have been living in Franklin Co., PA. After the death of his uncle, he moved back to Northampton County and lived in Allen Twp. (Extracted from pg. 124, "Kleppinger-Clippinger-Klepinger Family History" by Stanley J. Kleppinger, 629 N. 5th St., Allentown, PA, printed by George P. Schlichter & Son, Allentown, PA 1956. This history can be found in the Marx Room of Easton Public Library.)
The "Kleppinger-Clippinger-Klepinger Family History" has been used as the source for most of the Kleppinger information found in this Mory genealogy. The information has not been further verified.
A brief genealogy of Johann George Kleppinger appears on pages 677-678 of Vol. II of "History of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania" by Charles Rhoads Roberts. The genealogy shows that daughter Anna Maria, born 13 May 1801, married Emanuel Brown and daughter, Polly born 3 Sep 1803 married Samuel Muffley. This information may be in error.
The baptismal records of Zion (aka. Stone) Church at Kreidersville, Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA, show that the daughter born on 3 Sep 1803 was named Lydia, not Anna Maria. Lydia died unmarried on 18 Mar 1875 and is buried in the cemetery at Zion Church. Also, the 1850 census shows that Anna Maria, wife of Samuel Muffley, was born around 1801, not 1803. The name "Polly" was frequently used as a nickname for Anna Maria. Therefore, it is believed that Anna Maria, born 13 May 1801, was the daughter who married Samuel Muffley and another daughter married Emanuel Brown.
A small booklet of handwritten notes, prepared by Mandes Lerch in 1892 shows that Kleppinger daughters, Isabella and Eliza were twins and that Isabella married Mantle Brown and Eliza married John Person.
Note:   John George Kleppinger was known as "George" Kleppinger. He was administrator and beneficiar
