Notes
a. Note:   The sponsors at the baptism of Johann Philip Wint were Philip Trapp and his wife, Dorothea. Johann Philip Wint was a tanner and instrument maker and lived in the Center Valley area of Upper Saucon Twp. in what is now Lehigh County, Pa. His name appears on the tax lists of 27 December 1781 and 1812 for Upper Saucon. His tannery was later passed on to his son, Philip Jr.
In the first federal census of 1790, Philip was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Northampton Co., PA. He was listed as "Philip Went". Living in his household were two males over the age of 16 years, three males under the age of 16, and two females.
Johann Philip left a will written 19 July 1837 in which he gave two tracts of land of 82 acres in Upper Saucon and 60 acres in Salisbury Tsp. to his son, Andrew, and directed that Andrew pay $8,000 to the estate and make payments to the other surviving children. The executors of his estate were his son, Andrew Wint, and son-in-law, George Christ. (Estate file #1646, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
In 1943, almost 100 years after Johann Philip's death, a petition and order was filed in Lehigh County by Herman G. Ganz and his wife, Elsie, to clear a lien against the 60 acre tract which had been formerly owned by Johann Philip in Salisbury Twp. (Orphans court file #33299, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
