John P. Wint moved to Lancaster, PA where he died sometime between 1850 and 1859. He was alive when his father, Johann Philip, wrote his will in 1837 but had died before his sister, Elizabeth's, estate was settled in 1859.
In 1850 John Wind, b. in PA, age 67, a music dealer, was living in the NorthEast Ward in the City of Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA, with his wife, Dorothy Wind, b. in PA, age 60. Also listed in their household were:
- George Wind, b. in PA, age 25, an agent - Augustus (Henry Augustus ?) Wind, b. in PA, age 20, a musician - Mary Eima, b. in Germany, age 17 - Rosa E Bear, b. in PA, age 7 - Margaret Bear, b. in PA, age 4 (1850 census, microfilm roll M432_788, Page 332B, house #431, family #510)
In 1860 John P. Wind's widow, Dorothy Wind, age 76, was living in the North East Ward of the City of Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA. Listed in her household were:
- Augustus Wind, age 29, an attorney - Elizabeth Wind, age 25 - Elizabeth Bear, age 16 - Margaret Bear, age 14 Everyone in the household was born in PA. (1860 census, microfilm roll M653_1126, Page 868, house #263, family #262)
The names of the children of John P. Wint/Wind appear in the estate and orphans court files of his brother, Philip Wint/Wind, and sister, Elizabeth Wint/Wind. Philip and Elizabeth never married and John P.'s children and grandchildren all received a share of Philip's and Elizabeth's estates.
Estate file #3665, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA, for Philip Wind, who died in 1865, listed the surviving children of his brother, John Wind, as Andrew, George, and Henry A. Wind. The file also listed several grandchildren of John Wind. They were listed as Henry A. Wind, Deletia R. Wind, Rosina Bare and Margaret Bare. John P. Wind must had had a son, who died prior to 1865.
In addition to the children listed, John P. had a son who died prior to 1859, leaving three children. Two of the children were Henry A. Wint and Deletia R. Wint. The third child was living in 1859 but died before 1865.
Estate file #3001 and orphans court file #4468, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA, for Elizabeth Wint, who died in 1859, showed that her brother, John P. Wind, deceased, left three children: Andrew, George, and Henry A. Wind. The file also showed the grandchildren of John P. Wind as Rosina and Margaret Baer, daughter of John P. Wind's deceased daughter Rosina Wind.
