  In 1850 Clara (Wint/Wind) Strauss (listed as Claria Strouss), age 80, was living in North Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA with two children, both single:
 - Catharine Strauss, age 53 - Susanna Strauss, age 51 Clara owned property valued at $2600. Also listed in her household was Henry Newhard aged 10. Everyone in the household was born in PA. (1850 census, microfilm roll M432_792, Page 274A, house #203, family #205)
  In 1860 Clara Catharina (listed as Catharine) (Wint/Wind) Strauss (listed as Straus), was living in North Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with one unmarried daughter:
