  George Kleppinger was a farmer in Allen Township and occupied the farm later owned by the Lawrence Portland Cement Company.
  The date of birth on George's tombstone in Zion Church cemetery is 2 June 1813 but the church record of his baptism shows he was born 22 July 1813.
