Note: The sponsors at Joseph Mory's baptism were Jacob Horlager and Margaretha Brunner. In 1850 Joseph W. Mory, age 56, was living with his wife, Rebecca Mory age 52, and unmarried children; Sarah Mory age 23 and Andrew Mory age 33 a farmer, in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. He was listed as a "yeoman". Joseph's real estate was valued at $7000. (1850 census, microfilm roll #792, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 204) In 1870 Joseph W. Mory, age 77 and listed as a farmer, was still living in Upper Saucon Twp. with his wife Margaret Mory age 75. Son Andrew Mory, aged 53 a farmer, was still single and was living at home. Also listed in their household was Elemina Mory age 20, daughter of Amos W. and Lydia Mory. Joseph owned real estate valued at $15,000 and personal property of $300. (1870 census, microfilm roll #1363, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 620, house #153) The obituary of Joseph Mory appeared in the 13 May 1874 editions of the german language newspapers, "Der Friedens Bote" and "Unabhaengiger Republikaner", of Allentown, PA. He died at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 25 days. His obituary said he was earlier from Saucon and that he was the father-in-law of Ephraim Grim. Joseph Mory is buried in Fairview Cemetery in South Allentown. The date of birth inscribed on his tombstone is 13 October 1792. The church baptismal record shows a birthdate of 3 October 1792. In addition to the three children listed, Joseph may have had an un-named son.
