In 1870 Gotthardt Mory, age 57 a farmer, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Eliza Mory age 51. Gotthardt and his brother, William Mory, had combined their farms and were both listed as heads of the household. Each had real estate valued at $8000 and personal property of $3500. Also living on their farm was Alfred Mory age 21 (son of Amos W. and Lydia Mory) and a servant, Dianna Yulick age 34. In 1880 Gotthardt Mory (listed as "Mohry"), age 66, a widower and retired farmer, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Also listed in his household was a servant, Diana Yulick, aged 40. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1147, Page 284B , house #15)
Gotthardt and Elisa had no children. Gotthardt left a will which mentions his farm of 82 acres and 24 perches plus a tract of woodland on Lehigh Mountain of 3 acres and 7 perches. His will also mentioned his sister Anna, wife of Solomon Walter, and their children; his brother, William; his niece Levina, wife of
Henry Rudolph; and his nephews Alfred G. Mory and Paulina Mory. The executors of Gotthardt's estate were his brothers, Daniel W., Joseph W., and Benjamin Mory and nephew, Alfred G. Mory. (Estate file #7297, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
Gotthardt is buried in Friedens Church cemetery. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert C. Weaver.
