Note: d at Dryland Church 24 May 1801. John Wind's marriage to Elisabeth Weldy (Welty, Welti) appears in the records of the First Reformed Church of Easton. It is not known if they were actually married at the Church or elsewhere. John owned a 26 acre farm in Moore Twp., Northampton Co. He also owned a 100 acre tract in Hanover Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. John and Elisabeth appeared as sponsors to six baptisms of children of other failies at Dryland Union Church from 1814 to 1825. John died intestate. On 1 November 1838, his widow Elizabeth signed a renunciation, turning over administration of John's estate to their two sons, William and Joseph. On the same date, William of Hanover Twp. and Joseph of Moore Twp. filed a bond of administration. One of the sureties was a Peter Weldy of Moore Twp., probably a brother of John's wife, Elisabeth (Weldy) Wind. John's personal property, consisting primarily of farm goods and implements, was inventoried on 16 November 1838. On 6 December 1839 papers were filed in Northampton County orphans court to partition or sell John's 100 acre farm in Moore Twp. The farm was partitioned into three tracts. Five acres were sold to David Roth, five to Joseph Roth, and 16 to Elizabeth Wind. The estate was settled on 13 February 1841. (Estate file #4779 and orphans court file #2451, Northampton County Government Center, Easton, PA) Courthouse documents and other records show the names of only four children of John and Elisabeth Wind. Other children, names unknown, may have been born and died during the period from 1813 to 1820. (Other sources: 1. Findagrave.com - MEMORIAL ID 67905510)
