  In 1830 Peter Strauss was listed in the census in North Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Living in his household were one male aged 20 to 29, one male aged 60 to 69, three females aged 20 to 29, one female aged 30 to 39, and one female aged 60 to 69. (Microfilm roll #155)
  The inscription on Peter's tombstone in the old churchyard cemetery at Egypt Reformed Church shows he was married to Catharina Wind for 53 years and had 7 children. Only six of their children have been identified.
  Peter died intestate. The executors of his estate were sons John, Philip and Peter Strauss (Estate file #2025, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
