a. Note:   The sponsor at Johannes Lerch's baptism was Gratius Lerch. About 1770 John Lerch moved from Lower Saucon to Allen Twp., Northampton Co. where he became the owner of 300 acres of land which he farmed. He served in the Revolutionary War. In the first federal census of 1790, John was living in Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA. Living in his household were three males over the age of 16 years, five males under the age of 16, and two females.
  "John removed to near Allentown, PA, about 1770, on the east side of the Lehigh river, about one mile from Seigfried's Bridge, north, on a tract of 150 acres purchased by his father in 1770. Anthony Sr. conveyed the property to his son, December 18, 1773. John Lerch hauled four, six and nine-pounder balls from the Durham furnace in Bucks County, to Philadelphia, for the Continental Army in 1780-81 (Reichel's "Crown Inn)".
