a. Note:   s were Jocob Moore and Catharine Kupper. John Jacob was confirmed at St. Paul's Church (aka. Blue Church) at the age of 15 on 6 April 1798.
  In 1850 John Jacob Mory, age 68 a farmer, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Susanna Mory age 67, and unmarried daughter, Sarah Mory age 39. Also listed in his household was Mary A. Derr, aged 14 years. (1850 census, microfilm roll #792, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 200)
  The brief obituary of John Jacob Mory, of Upper Saucon, appeared in the 8 January 1868 edition of the german language newspaper "Der Friedens Bote" of Allentown, PA. He died at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 17 days. Rev. Yeager officiated at his funeral.
  John Jacob Mory left a will written 13 November 1863, probated 21 December 1867, in which he mentions his wife Susanna and children and grandson, Edwin Mory. The executors of his estate were son, David Mory, and Charles B. Weaver. An inventory was filed 13 January 1868 and a vendue was held to dispose of personal property. (Estate file #3962, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
  John Jacob is buried in the old churchyard cemetery at Friedens Church. The name on his tombstone is "Johann J. Mory".
  In March 1868 John Jacob's surviving children signed a release confirming that each had received their share of John Jacob's real estate. Son David was willed the real estate and paid $770.78 to each of the other heirs. This release document names each of the surviving children and their place of
