Note: The sponsors at Theresia's baptism were Christian Schafer and his wife, Susanna. In 1850 Theresia (Ziegler) Ritter, age 31, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with her husband, Gideon Ritter, age 32 a farmer, and Ritter children; Alfred age 4 and Frank age 2. Also listed in their household were William Hoe age 17 a laborer, and two of Theresia's sisters, Angeline Ziegler age 17 and Maria Ziegler age 22. In 1870 Theresia (Ziegler) Ritter, age 52, was still living in Upper Saucon Twp. with her husband, Gideon Ritter, age 53, a farmer. Also listed in their household were their son, Alfred Ritter, age 24 a laborer in a mine, along with Alfred's wife, Catharine Ritter age 20, and their two children; Byron S. Ritter age 2 and Anna Ritter age 8 months. Theresia's sons William Ritter age 18 and Milton Ritter age 15 were also still living at home in addition to a domestic servant, Ida C. Fink age 10. In 1880 Theresia (listed as "Terrace") (Ziegler) Ritter, age 62, was still living in Upper Saucon Twp. with her husband, Gideon Ritter, age 63 a farmer, and one son, Milton Ritter age 25. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1147, Page 307C, house #382)
