Listed in the same household were Catharine's sister, Elizabeth (Gangewere) Schantz, age 26 a widow, and her children; Frank Schantz age 4 and Amanda Schantz age 2; and Catharine's unmarried sister and brother; Maria Gangewere age 23, and John Gangewere age 18.   In 1870 Catharine (Gangewere) Fenstermacher, age 46, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with her husband, Reuben Fenstermacher, age 44 a carpenter, and five Fenstermacher children; Henry age 20 and also a carpenter, Elemina age 18, Quintus O. age 9, William M. age 5 and Preston age 1. Sons Milton Gangewere age 14 and Albert Gangewere age 12 were listed in the household of Catharine's brother, John M. Gangewere, in Upper Saucon Twp. Catharine and Reuben owned real estate valued at $1,500 and personal property of $450. (1870 census, microfilm roll #1363, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 642, house #481)
  Later, Catharina and Reuben lived at Bingen, south of Hellertown, PA.
  In 1880 Catharine (Gangewere) Fenstermacher (listed in the census as "Fenstemacher"), age 56, was living in Lower Saucon Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with four of her children; Henry W. Fenstermacher age 30 a worker at a furnace, son Quintus O. Fenstermacher age 18 and also a worker at a furnace, son Morris Fenstermacher age 14, and son Preston Fenstermacher age 12. Catharine's husband, Reuben Fenstermacher, was not listed in the household. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1162, Page 150B)
  Catharina's funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert C. Weaver.
