  Reuben served in the Civil War in Co. K, 54th Regt. PA Infantry. He is buried in Friedens Church cemetery. There is a Civil War marker on his grave with no inscribed dates of birth or death.
  According to his obituary in the "Bethlehem Daily Times", Reuben died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. John Christ, at the age of 65 and was buried in Friedensville. He was survived by one daughter and four sons.
