Note: d at the age of 20. Sometime between 1836 and 1850 John remarried Mary Hagenbuch, who was 14 years younger than he. In 1850 John Mory, age 37 a huckster, was living in East Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA, with his wife, Mary Mory age 25, and two Mory children; Charles age 1 and Elizabeth age 3. Also listed in their household were Hy Huber age 25 also a huckster, and Ellen Schantz age 15. John owned real estate valued at $1,300. (1850 census, microfilm roll 803, Northampton Co., PA, East Allen Twp., pg. 289A, house #101) In 1868 John was living in Bath, PA. In 1870 John Mory, age 60 a huckster, was still living in the Boro of Bath with his second wife, Mary E. Mory age 44, and five Mory children; Elizabeth age 23, Anna age 17, Ida age 14, Eugene age 12, and Rosa B. age 6. John owned a large amount of real estate valued at $24,570 and personal property of $1,470. (1870 census, microfilm roll 1381, Northampton Co., PA., Bath Boro, pg. 421, house #69) In 1880 John Mory, age 67 a retired farmer, and now a widower, was still living in Bath, PA. Listed in his household were his unmarried daughters; Annie E. Mory age 27 and Ida J. Mory age 25, and a Lutheran minister, W. J. Andres age 31. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1160, Page 235A) In 1890 John Mory was listed as a "Gentleman" and was still living at Bath, PA. (1890 Census Directory of Northampton County, PA, Bath) John's obituary appeared in the 21 January 1896 issue of the "Easton Daily Free Press". On 23 December 1879, 17 years prior to his death, John wrote his will. He bequeathed $500 to his son, Addison Mory ("a son of my first wife Anna deceased"). He directed that his remaining estate be appraised and distributed to five children; Charles, Elizabeth, Anna, Ida, and Eugene. John wrote codicils to his will on 23 December 1879 and 14 November 1888 stating that all notes, debts, etc. owed by his children were to be taken as cash received. He also gave $25 to Green Mount Cemetery and added his son-in-law, Rev. W. J. Andreas, as one of the executors. His will and codicils were proved on 6 February 1896. The executors of his estate were W. J. Andreas, Charles Mory and Eugene A. Mory. (Will book 13, pg. 151, Northampton County Government Center, Easton, PA) An inventory of John's estate, filed 13 March 1896, showed that, at his death, he owned eight tracts of land and houses in Bath and Allentown.
