Note: r husband, Jacob Algert, age 41 a farmer. They had no children at that time. Their real estate was valued at $2,000. Also listed in their household were Elizabeth Ziegler age 19 a maid, Jacob Ochs age 57 a mason, Susanna Ochs age 57 (probably wife of Jacob), Rudolph Smith age 35 a tailor, Mary A. Roth age 11, and Marietta Smith age 2. (1850 census, microfilm roll #792, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 195B, house #43) In 1870 widow Mary Algert, age 62, was living on her farm in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Her real estate was valued at $5,000 and she had personal property of $700. Also listed in her household was Addison Koch, age 28 a farmer (son of Charles and Judith (Ziegler) Koch), who was working the farm, and his wife, Catharine Koch age 24 and two children; Preston Koch age 3 and Cora A. Koch age 9 months along with a servant, Edwin Gernet. (1870 census, microfilm roll #1363, Lehigh Co., PA, Upper Saucon Twp., pg. 637, house #399) In 1880 Mary (Mory) Algert, age 68 a widow, was still living in Upper Saucon Twp. She was listed in the household of Addison Koch, age 38 a farmer, and his wife, Hettie Koch age 31, and their six children.
