Note: Mary Ann Wint was married to her first husband, John Ritter, by Rev. Joshua Yeager. In 1850 Mary Ann (Wint) Ritter, age 30, and her daughter, Amanda Ritter, age 8, were living with Mary Ann's parents in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA. Her husband, John Ritter, was not listed indicating that he may have died prior to 1850. (1850 census, microfilm roll 792, pg. 217A, house #384)
Mary Ann remarried John Buskirk Shimer sometime after 1850. John's first wife, Lydia Bortz Schantz, died 19 December 1850. John had five children by his first wife. Mary Ann and John had no children.
In 1860 Mary Ann (Wint) Shimer, age 41, was living in Upper Milford Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with her second husband, John B. Shimer, age 59, a farmer. Both were born in PA. (1860 census, microfilm roll M653_1130, Page 405, house #213, family #224)
Mary Ann died at the age of 45. She was was buried by Rev. William Rath. His record of the burial shows that she was the daughter of Andreas and Lydia Wind.
