  In 1850 Abner Wind, age 23, a tanner, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Maria M., age 23, and one child:
 - Adamissa Wind age 1 Also listed in their household was John Miller, age 20, also a tanner. Everyone in the household was born in PA. (1850 census, microfilm roll M432-792, pg. 217A, house #383, family #410)
  In 1860 Abner Horlacher (listed as A. H.) Wind, age 33, a farmer, was living in Upper Saucon Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Mary Wind, age 33, and three children:
 - Malinta Wind, age 11 - Alara (Ellen) C. Wind, age 10 - John P. Wind, age 7 Also listed in their household were: Chas. Stonbach, age 20, a farm laborer; Selena Stonbach, age 3; Amanda Berkenstock, age 16, a servant; and Parker C. Colady, age 20, an apprentice tanner. Everyone in the household was born in PA. They all were listed in the same house as Abner's parents, Andreas and Lydia Wind. (1860 census, microfilm roll M653_1131, Page 803, house #546, family #594)
  Around 1862 Abner moved to Allentown, PA and opened a tailor shop at 815 Hamilton St. He served a term as a school director and councilman from the Fourth ward and took an active interest in other municipal affairs. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church where he was a member of the building committee.
  In 1870 Abner Wint, age 43, a merchant tailor, was living in the 4th Ward of Allentown with his wife, Mary Wint, age 42, and two children;
 - John Wint, age 17, a clerk in the store -Mary Wint, age 9 Abner owned real estate valued at $23,000 and had personal property of $6,400. All were born in PA. (1870 census, microfilm roll #1362, pg. 88, house #25, family #25)
  In 1880 Abner H. Wint, age 53, a clothier, was living at 722 Linden St. in the 4th Ward in Allentown, Lehigh Co., PA, with his wife, Mary Wint, age 53. Also listed in their house were their married daughter, Mary (Wind) Schmoyer, and her husband, Frank Schmoyer, age 26, a clerk in the store. All were born in PA.   In 1900 Abner H. Wint, b. Dec 1826, age 73, a widower, was living at 436 Turner St. in Allentown, Lehigh Co., PA. He was listed in the household of his married daughter, Mary A. C. (Wind) Schweyer, b. Mar 1861, age 39, and her husband, Frank F. S. Schweyer b. May 1854, age 46, a contractor, and four of their children:
 - Harry A Schweyer, b. Jul 1880, age 19, foreman at a cement mill - daughter Mary W. Schweyer, b. Aug 1881, age 18 - son Grover C. Schweyer, b. Aug 1884, age 15, at school - daughter Helen A.   In 1910 Abner H. Wind, b. in PA, age 83, a widower, was living along 17th St. in Allentown, Lehigh Co., PA. He was listed in the household of his married daughter,
 Mary A. C. (Wind) Schweyer (listed as Schwoyer), b. in PA, age 49, and her husband, Franklin H. Schweyer, b. in PA, age 56, and one of their children:
 - daughter Helen A Schweyer, b. in PA, age 21 Mary and Franklin had been married for 9 years. Mary was the mother of 4 children. Also listed in their household were: Mary's married son, Grover C. Schweyer, b. in PA, age 24, proprietor of a hotel, and his wife, Nellie B. Schweyer, b. in NY, age 24, and a grandson, Harry A. Schweyer, b. in PA, age 5.   Abner died at the home of his son-in-law, former sheriff, Frank Schweyer, of 113 South Madison St., Allentown.
  Obituary in unknown newspaper, 3 March 1913:
 FORMER COUNCILMAN WIND DIED OF OLD AGE
 Abner H. Wind, one of Allentown's odest and best known citizens died yesterday morning at the home of his son-in-law, former sheriff, Frank Schweyer, of 113 S. Madison street suffering from general debility and the effects of his advanced age. He was 86 years, 2 months and 17 days old and was widely known in this city, having conducted a tailor shop, before his retirement, at 815 Hamilton street. He also served a term as a school director and councilman from the Fourth ward and always took an active interest in municipal affairs even up to the time of his death.
  He was born at Lanark, on December 13, 1837 and was the son of the late Andrew and Lydia (nee Horlacher) Wind. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Morgan Mory, of Catasauqua and Mrs. Frank Schweyer, with whom he resided and also ten grandchildren.
  As a member of St. Michael's lutheran church he took an active interest in the church work and was a member of the building commitee.
  The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with services at the house and burial in Union cemetery.
  Abner died intestate. The administrator of his estate was his daughter, Mary A. (Wind) Schweyer. (Estate file 13719 and orphans court file #14114, Lehigh County Courthouse, Allentown, PA)
