Note: on Co., PA, with his wife, Lydia Strauss, age 45, and one child:

In 1880 John Strauss' widow, Lydia Strauss, age 76, was living in Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co., PA, in the household of their married son, Thomas Strauss, age 52, a miller, with his second wife, Isabella Strauss, age 45, and three of his children;
- son Martin H. Strauss, age 16 - daughter Mary J. Strauss, age 9 - daughter Isabella L. Strauss, age 4 Also listed the same household were: Catharine Hoffman, age 17, Edwin H.
