"He was born July 21, 1818 in Ohio (Birth was calculated from death age on headstone, 35 years, 2 months and 13 days old), and died October 4, 1853 in Kilgore, Carroll Co., Ohio (Death date from headstone)." --Chris Ramsey, from Rick Culler FROM CHRIS RAMSEY: In the 1850 census John and his family were living in Loudon Twp., Carroll Co., Ohio. He was listed as John Hardin age 31 born in Ohio, his wife Rebecca age 27 born in Ohio, their children listed were; Nancy J. age 11, Oliver age 9, William age 6, Drusilla age 4 and Emeline age 1, all were born in Ohio. Also John's brother, Thomas Harding was living with him, he was listed as Thomas Hardin a Black Smith age 33 born in Ohio. WILL OF JOHN HARDING (HARDEN): I John Harden of Loudon Township, Carroll County, State of Ohio, being of full age and sound mind do publish this my last will and testiment. 1st -- I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife the farm on which I now reside being apart of the south half of the north east quarter of section one, township thirteen, Range five, containing forty five acres, also all my personal property, goods, rights, money and effect during her natural life time, she however disposing of so much of my personal property as will pay my just debts funeral expenses, ect. 2nd -- It is my wish and desire that after the decease of my wife the said land and tenements on the value there of be equally divided among my children. 3rd -- For the _______ out of this my last will, I hereby nominate and appoint William Hibbs my executor.
