  OBITUARY
Emeline Harding, daughter of Rebecca and John Harding, was born at Kilgore, Ohio, May 13, 1849. On January 15, 1928, as the hours of the Lord's Day were drawing to a close, she closed her eyes to this world in death, aged 78 years, 8 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Jacob Long at East Springfield October 3, 1865. To this union were born three sons and two daughters, two sons, William H. and Otto L., with the husband, preceding her in death. She is survived by three children, Mrs. Ed Peterson of Steubenville, Mrs. Ed Nolte and Edgar L. Long of Bergholz, and Mrs. Homer Davis of Peterson, New Jersey, who was reared by Mr. and Mrs. Long from infancy. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Drucilla Wiard of Carrollton; one half sister, Mrs. Ellen Simmons of Lee Township, and one half brother, Frank Hosterman of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Mrs. Erma McQueen, Mrs. Mary Finn, Harry Peterson, Mrs. Hazel Thompson and Miss Mary Nolte, and by five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Long was converted at the age of 10 and untied with the Kilgore Methodist Church. After moving to Bergholz her membership was transferred, and in this, the church of her choice, she worked constantly and earnestly for the One who so early in life had won her soul. Funeral services were held at the home in Bergholz Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Wade, her pastor, assisted by Rev. Lloyd McQueen of East Liverpool. Interment followed at Kilgore cemetery.
