Note: Alexander M. Bacskay Alexander M. Bacskay, 80, of Elyria, a World War II veteran, died Monday at his home following an apparent heart attack. Born in Cresent, he had been a resident of Elyria since moving from Arizona in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Bacskay was employed for 10 years in the Plating Department of Moen in Elyria. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Margret (nee Gill); sons Jeffery, David and Jerry, all of Lorain; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Lallathin of Newark. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Calvin Bacskay, in 1990; his parents, Alex and Mary (nee Gergye); and a brother, Joseph. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today and 10:30 a.m. Thursday until 11:30 a.m. services at Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, Chestnut Ridge Road and state Route 57, Elyria. The Rev. Bill Tumbelson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
