Notes
a. Note:   From the Eulogy used at her funeral:
"Urania Watson (Freeman) Cochrun was born in Delaware Co., OH, on September 14, 1841, and she departed this life on July 30, 1910; age 68 years, 10 months and 16 days. She moved with her parents to Van West Co., OH in 1852. She qualified herself for teaching in the public schools at Vanwest, OH, at the age of 17 (1858). After teaching for sometime she was married to Thomas W. Cochrun, of Allen Co., Ohio, on April 17, 1860. (Age 18). To this union were born thirteen children..... She is survived by ten children and twenty-six grangchildren, and one great grandchild. She also leaves two brothers, Arial Freeman of Lufsic, Ohio, and the Rev. John Freeman of Pleasant Mills, Indiana. Of the sisters - three; Sarah Ruel of Moore, Oklahoma, Jane Rodgers of Antwert, Ohio and Mary Kersn of Delfhous, Ohio.
Of the deceased it can be truly said she was a good woman. As a wife, none truer or more devoted. As a Mother, none could possibly excel her. Through all the cares and worries of rasing a large family of children she retained that sweetness of spirit that endeared her not only to her children, but to all that knew her. There never was a better mother.
As a Christian of real worth she held the confidence of the most skeptical. Her Christian life was an open book - a shining light to the world. So devoted, so earnest, as thousands will testify who know her, she was widely known in the communities where she lived.
As a woman of marked ability, her studious life linked with reverence to her God (and her command of excellent language) and her zeal for the Master's call early in life, place her in the front rank and file of Christian workers. She was very energetic. The sublimity of her life was practical and often times manifest in poetical expressions and verse - she frequently composed while engauged in her daily routines. (Some of her works finding its way to the press) And had not activities interfered, there is no doubt she would have preformed work of even greater moment.
Like all who travel the way of life she had her dark seasons, but through it all she was brave.... She looked forward when she could go to that land where suffering is no more. She was ready when the end came, yet sorrowful that she could not see all of her children at her bedside. Our loss is her gain."
