Note: Obituary Edna Mae Casner NEWARK: A funeral service for Edna Mae Casner, age 100, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial will take place in Wilson Cemetery. Mrs. Casner passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1911 in Champaign County, Ohio to the late Carl R. and Margaret Ocie (Evans) Sturm. Mrs. Casner loved flowers, gardening and growing violets. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Betty Sturm of Newark; sister, Treva Casner of Newark; special nephew, John Michael Sturm; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Casner; and by three sisters, Janie (Richard) Houchen, Helen (Oren) Whyde and Marie (Charles) Jones; two brothers, Chester (Emma) Sturm and Waldo (Juanita) Sturm; and brother-in-law, Spencer Casner.
