 Mrs. Paul Carrie Louise Hickman, 235 S. F. St, Broken Bow,NE, 84 years of age died on Thursday Sept 25, 1975 at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, NE following a brief but lingering illness.
 She is survived by her widower Paul Hickman of Broken Bow, four step sons Milo Roach of Scottsbluff, Archie Roach of Caldwell, Idaho; Wayne Roach of Lincoln, Nebr & Eugene Hickman of Bassett. Three step daughters Mary Packard of Burwell, Glenna Abott of Aleria, Nebr and Doris Gill all of Sargent and other relatives and many friends.
 Funeral services for Mrs. Hickman were held on Sunday Sept 28, 1975 at the Grovier Brothers Mortuary Chapel in Broken Bow, Nebr. Rev. A. O Ernst of the United Methodist church here officiated.
 Burial was made in the rural West Union Cem west of Sargent, Nebr with Grovier brothers Mortuary in charge. A memorial had been established to the heart fund.
  Carrie Louise Casner was born August 4, 1891 in a farm home in Coshocton County, Ohio to Spencer and Mary Hager Casner. Carrie went to Sargent, Nebraska in May 1940 to visit her sister and husband and decided to stay. In earlier years she worked as a nurse with a doctor in Ohio
 Carrie married Clyde Roach on June 21, 1940. They made their home on a farm west of Sargent until Clyde died of a heart attack.
 Carrie was employed in the Gabmele Store in Sargent until she married to Paul J. Hickman on March 28, 1950. They made their Home on a farm in the New Helena Community before retiring and moving into their home in Merna. Due to failing health they sold their home and moved to an apartment at Parkview Plaza in Burwell, Nebraska. Carrie and Paul observed their 25th wedding anniversary this year.
  Mr and Mrs Hickman had been living in their apartment in Broken Bow when Carrie was taken ill and hospitalized at Melham Memorial Medical Center a week before she died Sept 25, 1975 at the age of 84 years 1 month and 21 days.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister. she being the only remaining member.
 She was buried beside her sister Emma Brannon in the West Union Cem west of Sargent. At funeral Bernard Bush of Broken Bow formerly of Sargent sang Old Rugged Cross and Beyond the Sunset. Mrs Ralph Banker organist accompanist.
 Grandsons were pallbearers Robert and Lynn Hickman, Fred Packard,Louis Nietfield, William Spanel and George Spanel.
 Carrie was a cheerful generous soul and devoted to making happy homes and especially fond of her many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
