Note: per Monday, June 15, 1964, Bluffton News-Banner (page 3, column 1) Stroke Fatal to Otto A. Cochrun Otto A. Cochrun, 76, of Ventura, Calif., a native of Wells County, died Saturday at a Ventura hospital, where he had been a patient since suffering a stroke a week ago. He had not regained consciousness since being stricken. Born Oct. 26, 1887 at Tocsin, he was the son of Samuel and Orpha Wisner Cochrun. Mr. Cochrun had moved to California in 1937. He and his wife, Flora, were married 50 years ago June 11. Surviving in addition to the wife, are a brother, Halford of Santa Monica, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Nona Segers of Culver City, Calif., Mrs. Moneto Shady of Barstow, Calif., and Mrs. H. E. (Roenna) Shipley of Bluffton. Services and burial were held today in Ventura. Mrs Shipley, who had not seen her brother for 27 years, was planning a trip to California in the near future.
