She gave to 2 sons, John and Chauncy Van Kirk, the remainder of her estate (real, personal & mixed) to share and share alike providing they care for their father, David Vankirk, for the remainder of his life, if he survived her. Per Lorilei Schultz, Nancy Jane ran a boarding house in Darlington near Stitt Road and through this saved up enough money to buy their farm, because farming was a step-up from coal mining. Probate: Place: Nov. 24, 1914 in Beaver County, PA.

 Beaver Falls Tribune - November 9, 1914 Mrs. Nancy Jane Van Kirk, aged 79 years, died Tuesday at her home from dropsy. Her husband died last April, she is survi ved by 11 children. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. A. Savage and interment was made in Wilson Ce metery, New Galilee.
