Note: aul Van Kirk ( her husband's brother). Lived in children's home until Gussie was a senior in high school. Attended Beaver Falls High School. When Gussie was 1 3, she and her siblings were put into Beaver Co. Children's home by their father, as his wife had died and he could not care for the children. 1 3 is per Gussie, it may have been at age 12. Augusta J. Naska VanKirk, 94, of Fort Wayne, IN, formerly of Big Beaver , died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in Waters of Summit City Care Center, Fort W ayne, IN.
Born June 5, 1915, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Julius and M ary Betke Naska, she was a member of the Christ's Evangelical Lutheran C hurch, Beaver Falls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E arl James VanKirk Sr., on Aug. 15, 1973; two brothers, Bill and Robert N aska, and a sister, Margaret VanKirk.
Surviving are her son, Earl James and Carol VanKirk, Fort Wayne, IN; th ree grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the LUTTON BEAVER F ALLS FUNERAL HOME, 1117 Fifth Ave., www. luttonfuneralhome.com, where s ervices will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Kimberly A. Rapcza k, of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Townsh ip. Thursday November 12, 2009
