Notes
a. Note:   wspaper on Febr uary 18, 1891 in room #2. ********************************************* ******************** **** The Daily Times, Beaver, PA - Monday, October 9 , 1911 Driving a piano box pulled by a frisky steed, Alex. Van Kirk, Da rlington, arrived in Beaver Falls Saturday Night, and began to hit the h igh places. When officer White saw him he was holding the reins tight a nd urging Dobbin to to the beat of the band. Dobbin obeyed. When the o fficer interfered, Alex resisted. Persuasion was necessary before he wa s landed in jail. Today Burgess Brown sent him to Beaver jail for a we ek and three days. **************************************************** ************* **** The Daily Times, Beaver, PA - Wednesday March 20, 19 12 - Elic Vankirk and family have moved into the country on his father' s farm. *************************************************************** ** **** New Castle News - March 14, 1900 has an article about criminal c harges against Richard and Alexander Van Kirk. Quite a large article, b ut hard to read, but both men were charged with assaulting a guy and th eir brother David was a witness against them. ************************* **************************************** **** Occupation Place: coal mi nes with brother David Lived Date: 1914 Place: Enon Valley when he was i nformant on father's death certificate. 1900 Soundex for PA, says Elec k Van Kirk. Ohio Death Certificate Number: 59097, Volume: 2702 He died i n the 1918 Flu Pandemic. ********************************************** ******************* **** A story told to me by Jeanette Tullis, who hea rd it from other relatives was that Alexander was an odd fellow. For f un, he used to chase his wife and children around the house with a load ed pistol. Apparently Granny Eliza was not fond of him as she didn't w ant to be buried next to "that man". Unfortunately for her, she was bu ried beside him. I think the family could not afford an additional gra vesite.

Note:   Supposedly either one of his brothers (David or Archey) or his father ( David) had 3 testicles. *********************************************** ****************** **** Attended School in Wampum per ne
