 Gertaline Cox's birth & death dates per headstone & Beaver Co. Cemeteries Vol. 3, p. 8 2. On April 13, 1909, Gertaline Vankirk bought from David & Nancy Jane Vankirk, Lot # 123 on 5th Street & an alley, in Darlington, Beaver Co., P A. Deed Book Vol. 215, page 357. This was part of the property conveyed on August 27, 1902 to David Vankirk from Ms. Acie R. Martin, a single woman. That earlier transaction is said to be in Deed Book Volume 181, page 280. Note that on the adjacent lot, #124, was the home of Chancey Crawford and his wife Doris Ann. Said by Ruth Crawford to have first been the home of Joseph Crawford and his wife Mary Jane Vankirk. On June 8, 1899, Archie and Gertaline were admitted as members of Darlington Presbyterian Church. She is listed as Gertrude in the 1920 Lawrence Co., Census. Listed in the 1930 Columbiana Co. Ohio census as Gertrude Smalley. She was fist married at age 15.
