Notes
a. Note:   d singing her hymns. I remember attending her Methodist church with her once in Chippewa Township, and she sang "Open My Eyes that I May See". Grandma also considered herself the "matriarch" of the family. Unfortunately for her, this was not paid much attention to by the rest of the family. She also enjoyed her card games. I remember her teaching me various card games. Among them were "Cut-Throat", "Solitaire " and others. Nova and I used to play these with her a lot. Grandma was also the person who got me involved with family history! When I was a child, she sent a copy of a family report she and her sisters had completed to my mother. I read it and was fascinated to be related to all those people. I was hooked! In later years, when I was about 14, she showed me the Smith family Bible and family photos in her possession. She also helped me to start identifying antiques in various places in her home that had belonged to family members. She had quite a lot of them in her house. She also took me to where all the family members were buried. She taught me much and I loved her. I remember a story Great-grandma told me when we visited her grandmother's house in Owosso, MI in 1987. She said when she was about 6-7, she woke up early one morning and decided to rollerskate down the street in her nightgown, and there was a huge scandal. She also told me about one of her uncle's cars and getting to ride on the rumble seat. This would have been about 1914.
Note:   Died of congestive heart failure. 162-20-6042 Grandma died at 9:15 a. m. ***************************************Grandma was a very religious woman. She went to church on a regular basis and enjoye
