Notes
a. Note:   Golden Wedding Eighty years ago, on hearing that a baby boy was born at South Lodge, Nocton Hall, a schoolboy who was at that time at the Private School at the Old Vicarage, Nocton, in the time of The Revd. A. C. Wilson, visited his parents and asked if they would give the baby the same name as his own - "Eustace." That boy became the well-known Lord Eustace Percy and the younger child Eustace Pask, who - with the exception of twelve years in which he and his wife and family resided at Dunston - has lived in this village all his life and, from the time he commenced work until his retirement not long ago, has worked on the Nocton Estate. We heartily congratulate him and Mrs Pask on the occasion of their Golden Wedding which they celebrate on October 2nd (Mr Pask's eightieth birthday) with a gathering together of their large family at their home. The Pask family has always been closely connected with Nocton Church and Mr E. Pask himself was sexton for thirty-one years during which time his wife and sister cleaned the church. Mr and Mrs Pask also cleaned and looked after the school. For some time before her marriage, Mrs Pask worked for Mr and Mrs Hodgson at Nocton Hall. Unfortunately, illness now prevents her leaving home except on rare occasions, but her husband is still regular in his attendence at the church services and is really a "Pillar of Nocton Church," the congregation of which will join me in offering our best wishes to Mr and Mrs Eustace Pask on this joyful occasion.
