Note: Article from the Enid Eagle, Enid, OK, Wed., 7/28/1993: Obituaries Mahlon E. Blagg The funeral for Mahlon E. Blagg, 63, will be at 10 am Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home in Enid. The Rev. Tom Dowdell of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U. S. Army, Fort Sill, will be at the Enid Cemetery. He was born Jan. 23, 1930 in Mexico, Mo. to Charles E. and Vernice R. Mashek Blagg and died Monday, July 26, 1993 at St. Mary's Hospital at Enid. He was raised on the family farm in Lusk, Wyo., where he graduated from high school in 1948. He then attended the University of Wyoming for two years. On Oct. 25, 1950, he married Eleanore A. Denny at Lance Creek, Wyo. Blagg worked for Mid Continent Supply Company in Casper, Wyo. He was in the Army National Guard in Wyoming from 1948 to 1955. He entered the U. S. Army in 1955, and was honorably discharged in 1957, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He worked in the oil business until retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and the American Legion Argonne Post 213, Oklahoma City. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Mahlon E. Jr. of Edmond and John E. of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Laurie A. Colegrove and Annette E. Blagg, both of Enid; three brothers Colonel E. Blagg of Oklahoma City, Frank S. Blagg of Lake Dallas, Texas, and Charles W. Blagg of Caldwell, Idaho; one sister, Renetta L. Heald of Nampa, Idaho, and four grandchildren.
