Note: Daily Telegraph - June 6, 1918 Parrsboro, June 4 - The death occurred on Friday, May 31 of Gilbert Frederick Pugsley at the age of 65 years. The deceased had been a sufferer for more than a year from blood tumors and had been under treatment by the most skilful physician in Halifax and Boston, who failed to relieve the trouble. The late Mr Pugsley was one of Parrsboro's most esteemed citizens and his death is a distinct loss to the community. He leaves to mourn, his four sons, Roy M of Loveland Alberta; Stewart A of Waterville Maine; George R of Mattapan Massachusetts; F Locksley of Roxbury Massachusetts; two daughters, Mrs Manning Osborne of Joggins Mines and Mrs E H Henderson of Stellarton. Two grandchildren, Miss Myrtle Ripley and Private Edson Ripley, now in France, made their home with the deceased. Mr Wm Pugsley of Parrsboro and Mrs P McEntee of Spencer's Island are brother and sister of the late Mr Pugsley. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon from his late residence, Main Street, the service was conducted by the Rev Z L Fash, interment being made in the Baptist cemetery.
