a. Note:   Religious Intelligencer - Oct 5, 1860
  d. At his residence, Cambridge (Queens Co.) 16th Sept., of dropsy in the chest, John SLIPP, age 75. Deacon SLIP was born in Hampstead (Queens Co.) 24th August 1785. In 1809 he was married to Miss Hannah MERRITT by whom he had a family of 13 children, six of whom have gone to the grave before him. In the winter of 1820, he was lead by divine grace to see his state as a lost sinner. In 1834 he was baptized by Rev. Samuel Hartt and the following spring when the second church in Hampstead was organized, he was one of the first to unite with it. His funeral was attended at the Free Baptist Meeting House in Upper Hampstead on Wednesday 19th inst.; left aged widow, seven children, brothers and sisters
