Note: Clara Derr (her probable maiden name) may have been the sister (or couisen) of Rosina Barbara Derr, who married Sebastian Werley, and had two brothers, John & Valentine Derr (Durr). Clara was married to Michael Bittner in Uettingen, District of Marktheidenfeld (near Wurzburg) in 1758) and had a son Andreas born 10/10/1759 and two daughters. This family came over on the Ship Hero in 10/27/1764. After Michael's death in 1769 Clara married Silvester Holben. Andreas was raised by Silvester as a stepson. Andreas settled in Lowhill Twp on a large farm and also became a weaver by trade. Clara and Michael Bittner were baptism sponsors in 1767 of Clara Werley, daughter of Sebastian Werley & Rosina Derr. This German custom is for a close relative of the mother or father to be the baptism sponsor and to have the same first name as the child baptized. The above information came from the LDS Familysearch internet records and Bittner-Werley book written by Rev J.W. Bittner in 1930 (located in the Lehigh County Historical Society) and also came from a lead in a SIlvester Holben family summary written between 1980 and 1919 by an unknown author (probably Dr, Malcom Holben) which was in the hands of Matilda Holben Wehr and rewitten by June Valentine Greene (original not available). Another source is the History of Lehigh County, 1914 Edition.
