Note: Sarah 'Sadie' Rose Ann Aylesworth was born in Beresford, Manitoba, a small hamlet west of Brandon and south of Alexander. Sadie died in Brandon at the age of 12 years, 9 months, of Pulminary Tuberculosis. She was buried in the Brandon Municipal Cemetary (Section 16, Block C, Plot 62). The author of this genealogy, Samuel William Aylesworth and his wife, Diane, visited Sadie's gravesite in August 2003. There was no headstone, but personnel at the Cemetary confirmed the location. Also, we saw the "Swenterton" headstone nearby which is visible in the picture taken of Charlotte and a friend or family member at the time of Sadie's death. Subsequently Sam and his wife arranged for the installation of a headstone for Sadie. The pictures we have of Sadie have been placed within the 'scrapbook' section of this record. Notice of her death was found in the Brandon Sun, May 13th, 1915, and reads as follows: "The funeral of the late Sadie rose Aylesworth took place on Tuesday at two o'clock from the home of grandparent, Mr. F.S. Lloyd, 420 - 14th Street. Rev. S. Wilkinson conducted the service. The deceased passed away at the age of twelve years nine month, Saturday evening, following a lingering illness. Little "Sadie," as she was called, was a bright and lovable girl, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Aylesworth, 808 Tenth Street." [This is not accurate, of course: Sadie had two brothers: Simon Arthur and Robert Wesley. Simon Arthur later changed his name to Sydney Arthur.] ==== The following note was provided to Sam Aylesworth by email on January 19, 2003 by James D. Wall, President of South West Branch of the Manitoba Genealogical Society: An obituary of Sadie Rose Aylesworth was printed in the Brandon Daily News on Sunday, May 11th, 1915.
