Notes
a. Note:   Bowen Aylsworth (4), son of Job I (3), Philip (2), Arthur (1) was born in the town of Schodack, Rensselaer County, New York, in 1778, and was ten years only when his father and mother (Job I and Sarah) settled in Ernesttown, Canada. He married Hannah Perry when he was 19 and she 16.
I, Samuel William Aylesworth, compiler of this genealogy, descended from Bowen and Hannah.
Homer (p92) writes: Bowen "was a man of somewhat abrupt address, wasting few words in empty compliments, but of great equanimity of character, contented, prudent and unostentatious, hewing square to the line of settled convictions. His religious character was, in a measure no doubt, moulded and stayed by the piety of his excellent wife. Within the circles of his aquaintance he was referred to as a model of industry, economy and perseverance."
Following their marriage, Bowen and Hannah settled immediately on farm three miles north of Bath, Ontario, where they dwelt together sixty-six years.
On page 62, Homer notes that one of Bowen's sisters, Sarah, was nearly speechless from sickness in childhood, and died, unmarried, at Bowen's home in 1846.
Further, Homer (p92) notes that following the death of Bowen's sister Esther (who had been married to Robert Perry, son of Robert Perry and Jemima Washburn), one of Esther's daughter -- Anna Perry -- was reared by Bowen.
About four years prior to his death, a part of one of his feet was carried away by gangrene, and the part, contrary to expectation, healed and left him comparatively well again.
His death occurred on the sixty-sixth anniversary of their wedding day, November 21, 1863. An extended obituary notice appeared in the "Christian Guardian" of Toronto, November 30th, 1864. Bowen has contributed to the establishment of that paper. He also aided in the erection of Victoria College, and afterwards to its endowment, and is spoken of as one of the earlies tand foremost supporters of the temperence movement in Canada.

The following notes are from an article about Daniel Perry Aylsworth written in: History of the County of Middlesex, Canada, originally published in 1889 by W.A. and C.L. Goodspeed, Toronto and London. Facsimile edition published by Mika Studio, Belliville 1972. See London Ontario Library: R971,325 H629B [Edited somewhat for greater clarity by Samuel William Aylesworth on August 10, 2003.]
Bowen Aylesworth was a pioneer of Ontario, who came with his father Arthur Aylesworth [should read "Job Aylsworth, SWA], in 1778, and settled in Earnestown. Both father and son lived on the same farm all their lives. Bowen Aylsworth married Hannah Perry, daughter of Roger Perry, who came to Canada directly after the war of the American Revolution. To Mr. and Mrs. Bowen Aylsworth were born fifteen children, thirteen of whom lived to be over sixty years of age -- Benjamin, Job, David, John, Robert, Henry R., Elizabeth, Daniel P., Isaac B., Mary J., Sarah A., Peter and Mercy.
Bowen was a prosperous farmer, and was the owner of 500 acres of land, which he divided among his children. He was a member of the Methodist Church, and was a man who took a great deal of interest in church matters, being steward, class leader and trustee for many years. He lived to be eighty-six years of age, as did also his wife. He was one of the best known men in the locality, and was universally respected.
