a. Note:   Accoding to Amy SCHMIDT, a descendant of Sarah (nee DRENNAN) PURDY/MARCOE, this Sarah DRENNAN "went onto become one of the very first women doctors in Northern Wisconsin. She traveled around several counties serving as doctor and midwife. She had signed many of my Grandpa's siblings birth certificates, as well as his own. Rumor has it she kept hoards of documents and copies in a truck that was lost over generations. It makes my head spin to think of what could have been in that trunk."
