a. Note:   According to The Rylands Newletter of 1935, "Rachel Ann Ryland was the oldest grandchild of Andrew Ryland, and the oldest of the twelve children of Wm. Ryland. She was born near and attended Christ Church, Philadelphia. She married Thomas Stanton. For a time they lived in Pottsville, PA, and in 1868 they moved to Ontario Canada. The most of their descendants live in Canada. We do not have complete information on all of the Stanton families. Thomas Stanton had thirteen children."
