Note: A note in the Thamesville Herald, June 1, 1918, reads as follows: "Word has been received in the village of the death of Alex. Nickle, for many years a resident of this community, but latterly of Vancouver, B.C.. He collapsed on the bowling green at Vancouver on Tuesday and died the same night. The late Mr. Nickle was an ardent devotee of bowling and curling and is well known all over this part of Ontario, where has taken part in many tournaments."
